Biography
I am Penelope Duchesne, a Montreal
born French Canadian raised in Montreal from 1973 until moving to Chatham-Kent
in 1995.
My educational background is quite
diversified, including a two year study of Human Resource Law as well as a
degree in fashion design.
My experiences also include small
business management and extensive involvement in arts and culture, both as an
artist and a manager and owner of an art studio.
I have also had the opportunity to
teach, funded through the Art Council of Ontario, in the position of
"Artist en Residence", in which position I taught all grades from
kindergarten to twelve.
As an artist, I am passionately aware
of the history and culture of Chatham-Kent and numerous examples of my art are
currently displayed throughout the community. For more information please visit
my FaceBook page and Google+
All of my educational and employment
experiences have involved working with people in community groups, small and
large. My work and volunteerism consistently honours human relations, human
dignity, community interest, local history, and cultural diversity.
